Katherine Heigl admits that she grew up in a white bubble and how that influenced the way she cared for her adoptive multiracial kids. In an interview, she spoke about the "Firefly Lane" actress, along with "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared that her appearance didn't concern her, however, after having a conversation with her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of the stark differences their lives were. "I asked my sister, Meg, if she had received the same treatment while going out with us parents, and another way when she went out alone without them. She said, 'Oh, sure, I was treated the same way all the all the time! Heigl told her parents this made her realize how naive she had been. According to the actor, she became angry. She wanted to channel that anger towards helping her adopted girls. Heigl has a four-year old son and a 13-year-old wife, Josh Kelley. The couple took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8), who is black and was adopted in 2009.
