Aspen Ladd's combat sport journey started at the age of 14. After a kickboxing training session, BJJ and wrestling, she made her amateur debut against Jaimee Nievera at WCFC when she was 18 years old. Ladd felt more confident following her win, and she won three bouts in Ultimate Reno Combat. Her opponents were all defeated by the start of the round. In WCFC, Ladd defeated Leslie Rodriguez with a unanimous vote. Aspen beat Silvia Babaeghian Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo before facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia defeated Aspen and defeated her in a unanimous decision, putting a black mark on Ladd's records for amateur. Ladd won her next match with Roma Pawelek to improve to a record of 8-1. Aspen made her pro debut in 2015 when she signed to Invicta FC. Invicta 11, she was able to dominate Ana Carolina Vidal to score TKO victory in the opening round. She won her next fight against Amanda Cooper via second-round armbar submission. She then fought at Bantamweight for her next fight at Invicta FC 16. Aspen made use of her wrestling prowess to defeat McGill in third round TKO.
