Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she is the only person to be awarded 10/10 marks at an Olympic performance. Bela Karrolyi who was the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became her coach later in life found her around the age of six. At first, she competed in the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. In 1970, she won. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior competition for communist-bloc nations she took home three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she became an the all-around junior champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals as well as one silver. She took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars using a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She started her career as an entertainment professional as a teenager, when she performed as a figure skating duo with the sister Nina Wayne for the travelling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business as a teenager. At the age of 13 she was a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. These shows were ice skating events which included stage performances.
